So how does one put into words the feeling one has after seeing your greatest friends after 40 yrs? Impossible. It was definately one of the greatest memories of my life. To build up thru this site all year long the suspense of the reunion night & then to connect with each other was awesome. Thanks everyone for being so great. Our days together are not over, the reunion proved that. Sorry I missed some of you. I thought I had stuck my nose into everyone's name tag, but the pics showed I did miss some of you. Catch you at the 45th! And then there was the canoe trip down the AuSable. That was a good opportunity to get more one-on-one with each other & enjoy all that nature provides. Then some of us even were able to walk the Machinaw Bridge on Labor Day. WOW! Good friends last a lifetime!

Luv

Marlene

To My LHS Family,

It was most outstanding to visit with "The Old Hood" this summer. I miss you so much already. I'm so looking forward to the 2010 Dearborn Homecoming, as I expect to again see all of you there. Please visit our Christmas card to you. It's the last photo in my profile.

We love and miss you all,
Rick & Mary Kay

I just came across a couple of old Pardee class photos. I sent copies off to Mike Clow to be posted to the website for your viewing pleasure.

The first one is from 1961. It was Miss Winzeler's class. Lots of familiar faces.

The second one is from 1963. It was Mrs Austin's class. I recognize Ken Balcom, Herman, Clyde Fisher and several others. Most of the names are listed on the back, including my "girlfriend". She will go unnamed here for her sake. Hmmm wonder if she ever even knew :)

Looking for a one-way ride up north around Thursday or Friday (11 or 12 June 2010). Will gladly share expenses. My destination is actually Iron Mountain, MI (Upper Penninsula) but I'll take any ride to any stop anywhere along the way, as long as it's north.

I have to drive a car back from the UP which belongs to an elderly close friend of mine.

If you know of someone who's going, please call me at 313-522-7975.

Thanks.

It is finally time to reveal the answers to South Dearborn Heights Jeopardy.  How many did you get right?

01.  The Bobbsie Twins – they also looked like twins - were Anita Miller & Sue Evanchuck Kendrick.

02.The corner of Campbell & Eton Streets is where the fights took place.

03.Praise the Lord and pass the bottle, “The Great Savior” (future priest) was our beloved class president Gary Andrusiak.

04.The infamous “The Six Pack” – as they affectionally referred to themselves - was Karen Festian, Paddy Gallagher, Debbie Greenwell, Colleen Halstead, Sue Keleman, and Maureen Marcenko.  They contend that the attendant gave them the flag.  Yea, right.

05.The much-published Mike Windiate wrote “Invasion of the Killer One Eyed Edops”.  We are still waiting for his second novel.

06.LHS’s Psychedelic LSD Greaser Diva is none other than the ultra fine Janet Huffine.

07.It looked like a barn and was red, The Red Barn.  God, everyone should have gotten that one.

08.She will stab you with her stinger or thump you with her Bible.  The “New Bee/Preachers Daughter” was Betsy Davenport.

09.Hell, I have a hard enough time remembering my name let alone other folk’s names from the kindergarten and forth grade pictures.  Can somebody please tell me which one I am?

10.  DeMarco’s Italian Restaurant was where we consumed mass quantities of pizza.  Sadly, it no long exists.

11.   They held audiences prisoners to their music.  Stalag 13 consisted of The Gnewkowski Brothers – Steve & Jim – and Frank Potts.

Did anyone get them all right?  I did

It's always sad to hear when one of our classmates is not doing well. So many have left us and others struggle.
Below is an excerpt from a note that I received from Jim's wife Norma when I sent a private birthday wish.

It's over forty years now isn't it James? You need to update the comments section.
My email and phone number are still below.

Jim has been in the hospital since Aug 30th. He's now in rehab with physical therapy, etc. but won't be home before January.
Norma McKay

* No mention of which hospital or any means of contact except this web site.
The exchange took place today.

*An update in case anyone would like to send Jim McKay a card.*

He went in for what we thought was a minor foot infection. He ended up getting MRSA (a serious staff infection). Because he only has one good kidney (mine), every antibiotic they gave him would hurt the kidney. Started getting better, but pulled the feeding tube out of his stomach and aspirated into his lungs. On Sept 11, his heart stopped, but they revived him right away. It's been one thing after another. He's finally in Rehab, but after laying there for 3 months, he's very weak. He's very proud and would rather not see anyone right now. Maybe when he's stronger. He's at St. Joseph's Hospital in Ann Arbor, Room 406, if you'd like to send a card.

This URL (web address) links to a funeral home in Illinois that has no idea about James McKay?

I found the correct URL. It has a pj in front of it!

Emerson Trindade

Good-by my first friend!! I was so saddended by the news of the passing of my dear friend Sue Said Fisher. My condolences, thoughts and prayers to Clyde and his family.

When our family moved to Dearborn Heights from Detroit in 1960 I was looking forward to a new start and meeting new friends. I could barely speak English and I had a hard time expressing my thoughts, when I did speak people shook their heads and walked away. That all changed when a young lady rode her bike down the street and stopped in front of my house, stopped and watched me cut the grass with my push mower. I hated that machine. We started talking and to my surprise she understood me and did not ride away.

She said in her sweet little voice "my name is Sue, Sue Said". I asked her "said what?" Sue replied "my last name is Said, I didn't say anthing". We both laughted and that started a friendship that lasted a long time. She was my first friend in the new neighborhood. God be with you Sue Said, your friend Emerson Trindade.

WOW, years since anyone posted to this forum? Hello Emerson you are not the last now.

Just call if it's important Mike.
My wife passed, I'm remarried to a 30 year old and have a 1 yr 4 mo old daughter.
Not participating on this site anymore. Went back to work as an aero-space engineer. We supply parts to Space-X, Blue Origin and other electronic companies like Honeywell (Yes, I'm still working, what would I do it I didn't?).

Hello Jim,

Wow, a major reboot/redo of you life.  I am always glad to see those near 70 years still adding value to the economy.  I was going to keep working until I got to 73 but my buddy sold his 10 person compnay to IHS Markit which is a 40K people international company and it is not nearly as much fun.  So about another year for me.

All the best,

Michael

Well there's two posts on here since my last in 2020 post.
Does anyone get on here any more?
Got Covid after my last post April 2020 was hospitallized for 4 months (won't go into details) and lucky to have made it. I was level 11 which were not supposed to make it. I was the only one that made it at that level that MY doctor had for a patient. I see we lost mayor Danny Paletko a good family friend and Ford Motor Company retiree.
Daughter turns 5 October 3rd and just started kindergarden. Still hanging in there with that 34 year old (now) wife and yes I"m still having great sex at 72 without Viagra (Mega Quad Mix from University Compounding Pharmacy in Troy MI). This post is for all the guys who still want to enjoy. :-)

Remarried with a 5 year old daughter that is in kindergarten.
Got married to a twenty something year old about 7 years ago and forgot that young girls can get pregnant.
It's all good, my shit is still working due to a young vigorous wife that's 34 now. :-)

Does anybody  still get on here? I know I haven't in quite a few years till I got an email about Dave's birthday.
