SOUTH DEARBORN HEIGHTS JEOPARDY:

01. In junior high; who were the "Bobbsie Twins" that lived at opposite ends of D-7, and called each other every night, so that they could wear matching outfits to school the next day?

02. In junior high; what significant events took place at the vacant northwest corner lot of Campbell and Eton Streets?

03. In junior high; which young man attended the seminary wishing to become a priest. Obviously, he was trying to obtain one of those golden parachutes to heaven.

04. In high school; who were the girls that five-fingered a flag from a Canadian gas station named after a dam-building rodent. Upon their return to the US, mounted it on the hood of their car, and drove around D-7 flashing the boys with their BEAVER---------------------------flag.

05. In junior high; which guy wrote the epic English class essay "Invasion of the Killer One Eyed Edops". When it was read out loud (by the author) in class, the students were roaring and the teacher had no idea what was going on. For those that are at a loss, spell edops backwards.

06. In high school; this greaser deva, trying to corrupt our young impressionable minds, brought in and played the long version of Iron Butterfly's album In-a-Gadda-Da-Vida. For the remainder of the day, Mr Jones and his student's "grooved out" to the hip psychedelic music.

07. In high school; what was the name of the burger joint, on Michigan Ave., that was so popular at lunch time? Hint: It was not a chain establishment, it was red, and the building resembled a barn.

08. In high school (senior year); who was the "New-Bee" honey to the D-7 hive, that was a "Preacher's Daughter"? Hint: It was not one of "The Boys".

09. From the LHS Memorabila section; in the two elementary school pictures (Pardee Kindergarten and Madison Forth Grade), how many of our classmates can you name?

10. In junior high, after football games; consumption of mass quanities of pizza was manditory. What was the name of the Italian restaurant at the corner of Van Born Rd. and Pardee St. where this feeding frenzy took place.

11. In high school and beyond, beyond, beyond, beyond, beyond, beyond; what two brothers (one older, one younger) formed a "rock 'n' roll" band. Believe it or not, people actually thought they "rocked" and paid good money to see their live act. Also, what was the name of their band, that was name after a 1953 Billy Wilder WWII war-time movie.

What a great evening. It was nice to see so many people that have had great lives and great families and are doing so well. Got to admit that it really makes one use your memory banks to put familiar faces with names. Some are so easy and others are lost in my memories. Wish so many others that didn't come had taken advantage of such a great event and reconnected with thier past. I somehow missed the 30th, but won't make that mistake again. The internet can keep us connected until then.

Back in Memphis and ready to get back to normal, but wanted to say what a great time we had at the reunion. Got to see a lot of old friends and relive some good memories. For a lot of you I had to look at your name tags as I'm sure you had to look at mine. Special thanks to Mike Clow and all those who made the reunion a success. God bless and take care. Ron and Joyce

While I can't take a lot of credit for the fact that we had such an awesome reunion, I can tell you that the committee had all of your best interests at heart in planning it. It's great to hear how much you guys enjoyed it. Without your participation, it wouldn't have been such a great success. Being on the committee
was an honor and I hope to get people interested in planning a picnic for our 45th. Kudos also to the spouses who volunteered to help at the registration table and also with setting up and decorating the hall. I'm still proud to say I'm part of the last and best graduating class at Lowrey - 1969 - Fine as Wine, baby!

Love to all,

Valorie Winder

I just can't thank the planning committee enough. What a great weekend of fun! The "Meet and Greet", "The Reunion" and the "Tap Room" night cap! Nothing could have been better. It was really great to see so many old faces again and share old memories. I hope we do it again soon!

A big Thank You and VERY Well Done to each and every committee member. Your efforts were much in evidence Saturday...I truly had a great time seeing and talking to everyone...brought back a lot of wonderful memories and how much fun I had that year. There really is a special connection to all of you-and it was great to see how many cared enough to come and celebrate. May we always enjoy the caring, friendship and laughter. These are what make life worth the living.

All the best to you all,

Liz Roggenbuck

I had such an incredibly good time at our 40th Reunion, and the two events I was able to participate in : the High School Tourand the evening at Chelis. Going out for lunch after the tour was a lot of fun for me as well. To be able to get reacquainted with you and hear of all you guys did to help, plan, and ENCOURAGE us reluctant ones! to come. I owe an especially BIG thank-you to you, Rick DeMayo, for being such a great friend and encourager to me and so many others. I senced at lunch Thursday that you and the committee made it a priority to not just plan this event, but to do everything in your power to make it easy to come. Thank you so much. Jack and Paullette, you two are awesome, as is Mike Clow, Audrey, Vickie, Janice, Marckus, Dave and Val. You all did such a great job. What are you going to do with your time now that the EVENT is over? Time to start planning the next one.
